With the new Hamlet Court Hotel we have been careful not to lose sight of the old. Murty O`Neill, one of the founder members of the O`Neill group, is very much a part of Johnstownbridge, and Murty`s Bar was the informal and then formal name given to his licensed premises.
In Murty`s Bar you will find an old world convivial atmosphere where the bar manager Tony and many of his staff have worked in the bar for more years than they care to admit! Old and new come together now as many new faces have joined the crew.
At any time you will find locals who`ve sat on the same stool for years sitting with new locals and visitors alike. The same charm and hospitality is extended to all.
Every weekend there is live music in the bar.
Murty`s Bar is renowned not only for its hospitality and comfort but benefiting from the Hotels` world-class chefs and locally sourced products, is also home to one of the better bar food menus available. Lunch is served daily - Monday through to Saturday from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
Also each evening, from Monday through to Sunday 3.30pm to 8pm, Sunday 4.30pm - 7.30pm the Bar A La Carte menu is available to tempt those taste buds. Featuring Specialty dishes like Murty`s Mixed Grill, to a mouth watering Fillet Steak. Just to name two!
